Ways to Serve

Whether it’s Music Ministry, Second Harvest food distribution, or Volunteers in Mission, Paris First United Methodist Church has a place for you to serve God and the community.

Ministries

Connections Prayer Ministries is a Fresh Expressions outreach of Paris First, offering healing prayer and spiritual direction for those seeking to explore or process their spiritual journeys.  Shani Campbell is a Licensed Local Pastor in the UMC, and Suzan Wolski is gifted in spiritual discernment and in the practice of listening prayer. View Connections’ Facebook Page. Contact: Shani Campbell and Suzan Wolski. Prayer sessions are scheduled by appointment by texting “PRAYER” to 731-336-1944.

Mission Beyond the Walls: Working through our larger denomination, we reach out to help those in need, like building flood buckets and hygiene kits to be distributed by United Methodist Committee on Relief. Some of our church members volunteer with Habitat for Humanity; raise funds for cancer research with Relay for Life, and support our local helping agencies like Phases to Freedom, Family Resource Center, Helping Hand, and Little Pantries of Henry County

Project Bridge:  Working with other congregations, Paris First is host to Project Bridge. Project Bridge is a summer program (month of June) for early elementary children to help develop the reading skills by one on one tutoring. This program also has a focus on social and emotional character development in an atmosphere of care. Contact:  Jane Etheridge (731-707-0930). Second Harvest – Paris First is proud to be a partner agency with Second Harvest of Middle TN.   We serve the greater Paris Community every third and fourth Tuesday morning.  Church volunteers gather to unload the SH truck and build boxes of fresh produces, breads, desserts, meat and canned goods to share with anyone in need. View the Second Harvest Website

In-House Food Pantry – On each Monday and Friday between 11:00-12:30, individuals and families dealing with food insecurity may receive a monthly bag of groceries, prepared by donations from our PFirst family and other community support. If you would like to help, please contact pfirstoffice@gmail.com or call 731-642-4764.
